Splash

After a long, hot day droving , the horses relished the chance to splash and roll in the river. Camping at the Fairbairn dam near Emerald was a welcome respite for horses, cattle, dogs - and for us!

Saddle for a Throne

This was inspired by the light and shadows on a bright sunny day. The title is taken from poetry by Will Ogilvie. To me there is nothing better than riding along with a mob of cattle on a good horse - it simply fills my soul.

Initiations

This new print is about rites of passage - the boy in the picture was the son of a friend who had come to help us brand - his first "outside" job. I loved the light at the time and was struck by his gentle handling of the calves - they all looked so young and innocent together - and I was pregnant at the time so my motherly instincts were in full force! I hope to have captured some of what I was feeling that day. I do know that after having Children I struggle with branding and weaning!!!
